Interaction Design Lecture — Application of AI in Wellbeing and Social-Emotional Learning (SEL)

We’re pleased to be co-hosting a free, in-person seminar on AI use in wellbeing in partnership with the School of Interaction Design at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. If you’re in town, please drop in for biscuits, tea and a listen, in addition to enjoying the architecture (it’ll be in the Jockey Club Innovation Tower, designed by Zaha Hadid 😊).

Hear from Professor Feiran Zhang and Connie Cheung about their experiences developing products (wearables and software) to positively impact children's social-emotional skills in classroom environments.

This will be the third free workshop we’ll have run with Hong Kong universities, academic experts and NGOs since the release of the EDB’s AI-funding scheme for schools to diversify the understanding of educators on how AI solutions can be applied for emotional regulation, wellbeing, and other non-academic subjects, as well as build knowledge of the limitations and risks of AI products for children.

Who Should Attend?
Educators, teacher trainees, university students in subjects like interaction design, AI, computer science, UX/UI, or early childhood, psychology and counselling

Why Attend?
🍎 Broaden your understanding of how AI tools and platforms can impact the experiences of children in classroom environments.
💡 Learn key safety and privacy questions to ask AI platforms and edtech vendors before you use the government funding to buy products.
🚀 Hear directly from Dr. Zhang about her studies in Scandinavia on how AI can help improve group collaboration, social and empathic skills in classroom settings.
