History of the Summit
The Smart City Academy (SCA) is a pivotal force in Hong Kong’s digital transformation, comprising a network of professionals and technology experts dedicated to advising the government on building a world-class smart city. Beyond infrastructure and policy, the SCA has demonstrated a profound commitment to future-proofing the next generation through its leadership of the Kids’ AI Summit.
Launched as a flagship feature of the annual Learning & Teaching Expo (LTE), the Kids’ AI Summit has evolved over the last two years into a premier platform for youth engagement, supported by Hong Kong Education City and the Education Bureau.
Building on this success, the summit is now expanding regionally, with Thailand set to become the second country after South Korea to host this prestigious event. This flagship initiative provides a professional platform for students to present AI solutions and engage in ethical discourse, ensuring the next generation is equipped to lead in an AI-driven world.
Launch of School Alliance for Human-Centric AI
As part of the Kids’ AI Summit Thailand 2026 we are launching the School Alliance for Human-Centric AI for schools across Asia.
We stand at a critical intersection where AI-use by students and teachers is evolving faster than institutional frameworks and parenting strategies can adapt. Private and international schools in Asia face a unique set of demands, balancing rich cultural values and high parental expectations with the realities of a borderless digital world. The complex challenges of managing device strategy, student digital wellbeing, and responsible AI literacy cannot be solved by schools working in isolation.
Shaping the future of human-led education in an AI-age requires a united, proactive front. We need this collective action now to protect child safeguarding, partner with parents, and shape a technologically empowered generation that remains grounded in human values.
Vision
A future where every child and educator’s unique voice and contribution is supported, not replaced, by the proportionate and intentional application of technology, including AI.
Mission
To establish a dynamic coalition of leading schools across Asia that sets the global standard for proportionate and intentional technology use by actively uniting student, parent, and teacher voices on practical, human-centric AI strategies.
