New Digital Wellbeing Report Released
We are excited to announce the release of our new Spotlight Report “The Business Case for Digital Wellbeing: What K-12 Leaders, Boards & Investors Need to Know”, which we shared the first peek of at AIFE 2025 in Jakarta this past Saturday, 8 November 2025.
This report shines a crucial light on the escalating, yet avoidable, risks K-12 institutions face in the AI era by taking a passive approach to digital wellbeing (DWB). Child safe guarding incidents ranging from online sexual harassment and cyberbullying to online radicalization and self-harm highlight a growing global pattern that underline the need for a proactive DWB strategy for school leaders.
For too long, digital wellbeing has been treated as a reactive measure or a "nice-to-have" ; this report makes the case that it is now a core leadership responsibility and an indispensable pillar of institutional sustainability.
The report delves into the tangible, high-stakes costs of inaction, illustrating that a passive stance exposes schools to severe reputational damage, significant legal costs, and decreased academic performance, and provides a deep dive into the two common patterns of institutional decline resulting from passivity—leading to either a child safeguarding incident or academic decline—and offers crucial takeaways for mitigating future risk.
It also provides a Taxonomy of Common Digital Wellbeing Risks for children and youth, categorized by the globally recognized "4 C's" (Content, Contact, and Conduct). For school leaders, the opportunity lies in recognizing the long-term investment: proactively integrating DWB programs yields mid- to long-term advantages in student wellbeing, academic performance, and institutional reputation.
We invite educational leaders, boards, and investors to read the full report and recognize digital wellbeing not as an option, but as a foundational element of long-term institutional growth and competitiveness.
